This weekend I’ll be teaching a brand-new class on one of my favorite subjects: painting water. Water has fascinated artists for centuries with the way it reflects, moves, and transforms the world around it. From quiet ponds to rushing streams, painting water asks us to observe light, rhythm, and reflection with fresh eyes.

On Saturday, August 23, from 1–3 pm CT I’ll be live on Zoom to share my approach. We’ll look at different water forms, study references, work through step-by-step demonstrations, and take time for your questions. Whether you are curious about capturing ripples, reflections, or the gentle glow of sunlight on a lake, this class will give you tools to bring water to life on your paper. A recording will be available afterward, so you can revisit the material at your own pace.

A Little Shop Surprise
Alongside preparing for Saturday’s class, I’ve been quietly working on something else! I have a new online shop! This is a soft launch, a first peek at what’s to come. Right now you’ll find a handful of small framed originals, the kind of intimate pieces that feel like treasures for your wall.
I’ll be adding more over time. I’ll have small prints, free downloads, and other goodies, but for now I wanted to share this early stage with you. It feels good to open the doors, even just a little, and invite you in.

I hope to see you in class on Saturday and in the new shop space soon! Thank you for your support and encouragement, always. It means the world to me!
