I just spent the last hour cleaning up after last night's storm. It really wasn't a big deal, tornados in the area but mostly small (dime and quarter sized) hail. No big damage, just lots of leaves on the ground and shrubs and plants a bit tattered…The images I attached are not from last night – but from last year around this time. Tornado Season. On a typical May/June/July night, storms can pop up out of nowhere and wreak havoc – if not on our yards and homes, then in our minds. I always get a bit nervous at this time of year. Last year, I was in the hospital after having Benjamin when we had a tornado watch (tornado hadn't been spotted but conditions very favorable). A couple of days after getting home from the hospital, this storm (pictured above) happened and caused millions of dollars worth of damage. We're talking baseball and softball and some larger sized hail. I've personally seen hail as large as a cantaloupe. CRAZY. My friend Jules husband is a meteorologist and has gone storm chasing. I can only imagine how scary it would be to go looking for these storms – I just want to run and hide.
Some people think I am freaky about these storms (you know who you are!!) but I just can't help it. My LIFE is in the four walls of this house. Their names are Russell, Colin and Benjamin. I don't want anything blowing that apart.

Wow…Randy was just lamenting about the absence of chase season – which is now in Texas. He misses it so. I’m with you. I hated being under watches or warnings and wonder if Randy would come home to a home, or if I and Duncan would be blown away somewhere. He always tells me the safest place to be during a storm is with a storm chaser…I’ve always taken his word for it.
Cool pics of some nasty storms, Bethany! I’m guessing those were taken on or around the day that BSA was hit with ginormous hailstones? That was ugly…
Wow – I can’t believe that picture of Benjamin! He has grown so much…and that HAIR! He has a lot more hair (and chub!) than when I saw him last! What a cutie pie!
I get a little freaky about storms. Two ofthekids really freak over storms so I have to pretend to be brave! -E
